Accusations

Gideon POV

To say my mate's response to my touch surprised me would be an understatement. I was taken aback and hurt. I won't deny that part.

It felt like she was disgusted by my touch or something…or more like she was afraid of me. But why would Maya be scared of me? It made little to no sense at all.

I know when I left her in the afternoon, she was pissed with me, but I did not expect her anger to escalate to this.

“ At least wake up from the icy floor. You might get sick from the coldness.” Ignoring the ache in my heart, I said.

The marble floor was cold and, given that she was only wrapping a towel around her body, she could get sick.

That would be bad for her health and our baby's.

I have not told Maya about her pregnancy. I don't know how to break the news to her because we discussed nothing to do with children before.

We have failed to consider that consequence when we made love.

I don't regret having a baby with my mate and even though I have not shown it yet, I am happy.
