When Mielle heard the doorbell, she jumped from her place. And when she saw the face of the visitor she sighed, bothered: “It is you!”

It was Claude Knightly.

“The coffee shop is still open I suppose?” he said while flipping the door’s signboard to ‘CLOSED’.

“We don’t have enough luxury to welcome you properly Mr. Knightly!” mocked she

“Gosh, Mielle! Can’t you even bother hiding your hate?!” laughed he.

Mielle laughed too. She asked him to sit by the window and prepared him a bitter espresso:

“The usual!” she said “With no sugar”

“Thank you, dear.”

“You sure you don’t want some cake or cookies?”

“No, please. I detest sweet things”

“Yet you like Flora!”

“Flora will always be the exception!”

They laughed again.

“A cigar?” she proposed “I don’t encourage customers to smoke to keep the atmosphere clean. But, no one is here except us. So I will allow it just once”

“That’s extremely generous!” Claude accepted the offer.
