Josie couldn’t feel it before but now she could. She could feel how tense the air in the dining room was. The guards and servant all stared at her with a daunting gaze as if they were preparing to harm her in case she repeated the action that seemed threatening.

She didn’t feel the air was this grappling before when Rose and Dominic was with her. Was it because now, the castle was under control of Shawn?

She felt nervous. As if she was standing near lava, her back began to sweat. She gulped down her fear and shook her head, “I don’t understand what you mean?”

“I see,” he sighed, “I thought you have heard about the recent news with the servants which I had planned to tell you first.”

She met Shawn’s eyes that lasted only for half a second as she darted her eyes back to her food, “What news?”

“About the previous village where you lived, there was a sudden big fire that occur,” Shawn dropped the news and at the same time Josie whose fingers loosened, dropped her spoon and knife.
