That day set the tone for the next few weeks. While at work, I did my best to hide away from everybody, especially Alyssa. I felt like it was the best plan for both of us. I refused to be the reason for any problems between them. I knew one look from her, and I would forget my concerns about them and do whatever she asked. And I was fearful that just my presence alone would cause them to break apart. On my days off or whenever I made it home, I would spend my waking time scrubbing, polishing, and scratching away every inch of dirt and grime I could find. By the end of the first week, I had pretty much got the rest of the living room and the kitchen done. Tackling the bathroom and upstairs bedroom became some of the hardest chores I had ever had the misfortune to come across. At night I spent time staring up at the stars and trying desperately to find a moment of rest from my whirling thoughts. Then, of course, there were some nights I just gave up and got up and continue my cleaning.
"Hello, Bethany. Jordan called and said you guys were doing some major renovations and could use all the hands you could get," Reed greeted me."Major renovations?" I parroted and looked back at the house.I could not see from where I was standing. But the last time I checked the work that they were doing, it didn't look like major renovations. I knew the house needed some major work done. But right now, I just did not have the time or money to fix it up. I was just going with what I could fix and hadn't realized the boys would have thought I meant more. Panic swamp me, and I turn to go inside to stop them before they started a project I couldn't finish."Something about new flooring?" Reed asked. "What?!" I gasped. "No! Just light drywall and some spackling.""Is that really all you need?" he prompted cautiously.I stop to face him, trying to look as calm as I could so he would not realize just how overwhelmed I really was. Surrounded by Dom's as I was, there was no way I would get o
"Bethany!" Vie's voice broke the moment like a bomb exploding between the three of us. I looked up to find her holding my cellphone towards me as she hung off the rail slightly. "It's Trina and Robert," Vie said with a wink.Vie knew all about the offer that Robert had given me to move up to Canada with them and become their sub. She also knew about what happened between Kevin, Alyssa, and I.I didn't understand why she was interrupting a conversation as personal as this. She must have at least gotten the gist of everything from where she was sitting.Suddenly, there was a twinkle of un-Vie-like mischief in her eyes that bothered me. She was obviously up to something, and I had a feeling I was not going to like it, whatever it was. I narrowed my gaze at her, thinking strongly that it might be better to ask Trina to call me back. However, I realized the choices were: deal with Trina or deal with Kevin and Alyssa. I sent Kevin and Alyssa an apologetic look before blessing Vie with a n
Ready for them? And when did I say yes? I understood the chain of command in a BDSM relationship. However, a Master would have at least waited for a verbal yes to something this big. Then again… even Kevin had not waited for a no when he ordered me to come home with them. Trev did the same thing for Vie not too long ago. Maybe, I was making too much of this. I shook my head to pull myself out of my thoughts when I realized that Robert was talking, and I had not caught anything of what he said."I'm so sorry, Robert, what was that?""That's exactly what I was talking about. You need better training. I know that you are known as a bit of a rebellious sub and hard to control. But I won't have that. When I get down there, I will retrain you, and I want you to understand that I will not tolerate any sort of rebellion or brattiness from my sub. So, every day I'm going to have Trina or I call you and we'll discuss what is expected of you that day," Robert explained in a hard tone. My back s
Like a deer in the headlights, everything inside me froze."What's going on?" Alyssa asked, sounding a little excited as if she understood the situation more than I did."It seems our old friend Robert... you remember Robert, right?" I felt rather than saw Alyssa nod. "Well, he and his sub, Trina are looking to add little Bell into their group."Alyssa gasped behind me, and I could feel her tense up against my back."However, Robert only takes on a perfectly behaved submissive. He is only willing to take on our little rebel if she's retrained properly," Kevin explained. His gaze never left my face as if trying to imbed every word on my psyche. My stomach twisted with worry from the obvious warning in his tone. I knew I had been a wild child, but the keyword there was 'was'. I had changed, hadn't I? I did not need to be retrained! I tilted my chin up as a silent challenge towards Kevin, and his lips twitched a bit as if he were trying to hold back a smile."So, Robert asked, in the spir
After everyone left, Kevin and Alyssa decided to give me some time to get a few things together to move in with them for the next month. I was grateful for the reprieve, however now that they were gone, the panic I was fighting earlier came back to haunt me.If I had to give an honest count of how many times, I grabbed the phone to call them to tell them the deal was off, I would never be able to. I must have packed and unpacked my bag only to repack it two minutes later. By the time night came, I thought I had gone insane and was racing around the house like a jacked-up Chihuahua. It didn't help when I got this text message after the thousandth time of unpacking my bag.-Be there in ten minutes. Be ready, sub.-With a squeal, I repacked my bags in second's flat. Then raced through the house like a bunny with its tail on fire. I turned off the heat, lights and making sure everything was good to go for an extended absence. I had just finished with the kitchen when a set of bright headl
I had to smother a giggle at his indignant tone. It was painfully obvious that they thought I was just going to surrender and ask them to kill me like a meek little kitten. An uncomfortable thought hit me that a short time ago I might have. Not anymore! I swore to myself. I left the still cussing men at the front and slowly made my way around to the back door. As I hid in the bushes, I cursed the fact that there was no window available before the stairs. I desperately wished I could see if anyone were in the kitchen or was coming towards the back door. But, soon enough, I heard the heavy thud of boots stepping out on the porch, and with bated breath, I waited for the telltale crunch that meant the man had stepped onto the pathway. That heart-pounding sound almost came too soon, but I took the opportunity that was given to me and jumped out swinging the branch down to catch the man's forearm.Once again, it was just pure luck that I caught the arm holding the gun. With a cry, the jacka
With the high amount of adrenaline running through me at the moment, my horror at what I had done was temporarily hampered.A sense of calm swept over me as he started his pursuit again. The barrel suddenly stopped shaking as I felt a certainty steal itself inside me; or maybe it was the fact I finally gripped the butt with two hands, who knows? But this time, when I pointed it at him, it was dead center and when I pulled the trigger once again, my aim was true. I stopped him with two quick pops from the gun and watched as the horrifying realization slowly broke over his face the instant before his face met the ground. With an eerie calm, I listened to the gunshot reverberated through the area. I knew I should run, but my legs seemed to have grown roots, and I couldn't go anywhere. I stared down at the motionless form at my feet, morbidly entranced. My eyes saw what had happened. However, my brain refused to process it. I was jerked back to reality when another bang flew by my ear. M
