Chapter 25

Madison’s POV.

I was driving really fast, but I was still mindful so I wouldn't get pulled over by the police.

Tears were dropping down my face; I couldn't stop or control it. I became more impatient when I got to the hospital’s parking lot. I almost jumped out of my car without parking. I got inside and ran to my mother’s ward but she wasn't there. I ran to the receptionist. My heart was racing faster than my legs.

“Excuse me, I'm looking for Mrs...”

I was gasping for air; I was trying to catch my breath and talk simultaneously.

“Calm down, Ma; try to catch your breath first.”

"Yes, I'm sorry. Please, where did they move Mrs. Mary Byers too?

“Hold on a few seconds, let me check."

That was the longest wait ever; she only took a few seconds but I felt like I waited for hours.

The hospital was a really big building, the biggest hospital in the city, so I can understand if she takes a while to look for my mother’s name.
