Chapter 40: Patched Up

After a while of driving I get a phone call causing me to sigh and look over at it, grabbing it I see ‘Ice Prince’ spread across the screen and I raise an eyebrow before pressing the accept button to answer it.

“How’s work” he asked and I could hear the loud pinging of games in the background over his sarcastic tone and I laughed.

“I feel great, what time are you guys heading back?” I ask my tone becoming more serious towards the end.

“Probably about an hour from now” he said “how far are you from the dorm” he asked and I looked around.

“Probably about twenty minutes” I said, shrugging a bit to myself.

“I’ll make sure we don’t go back soon then alright” he said and my eyes widened.

“Okay” I muttered, still a bit surprised by how relaxed he was with everything, and the fact that he was basically attempting to protect me by making sure no one found out, but I was thankful for it.

“I’ll come see you when we get back, see you soon” he said before hanging up the phone as a few yells
