Chapter 82
As we got to the vehicles, I had to contain how badly I wanted to take Kal in front of everyone. I needed to be as close to him as possible.
I caught Theo walking behind us, watching my every movement, as if I'd break at any second. His guilt was consuming him, as was his grief. Rowan had been OUR best friend, his Beta, and I knew he agreed with my choice, but it didn't make it any easier. I also didn't want to imagine anything that Kal had done while I was missing.
