“Eira, come on, let's just go home. We can discuss this later when you’ve sobered up.” Ethan pleaded with me as I climbed over the bar to grab another bottle. Sal refused to give me another bottle causing me to grow impatient.

I glared over at him and responded, “Discuss what?! That asshole made sure that I would never truly be happy! I know the whole reason that Bodhi was so ready to give up on our family! Our father hated my guts. I’m everything that he couldn’t control! He told Bodhi that I would never get to have a real relationship with Koa and that he would make me regret not being a good little wife of someone in the mafia!” By the end of my little speech, I was yelling again. I turned my attention to Koa and quietly said, “I will never be good enough for you. Trust me, I know that…I have my whole life…” I quickly swiped at my nose with the sleeve of my jacket.
