Chapter 50 - Shane
I gently lift Deloris’ hand into mine and lovingly gaze at her bandaged face while I sit beside her hospital bed. My heart aches seeing her in this condition.
She looks so peaceful, and I know she needs to rest, but I can’t help but to be a little selfish. I want her to open those beautiful brown eyes and look at me. Tell me she won’t ever scare me like she has.
I don’t think I could handle another day like that day.
Looking back, I’m glad that I had my attention on Deloris, even though a part of heart was ripped from my body when her body went soaring through the air.
My thumb gently rubs circles on the back of her hand while I continue to stare at her.
