Devlin let out an unbelievable gasp. His jaw fell down as he slumped on the ground.

“Sarah!” He drawled, his expression rich with shock. “Tell me you didn’t think I would kill you!”

It was Sarah’s turn to blink. She frowned as the anger hit her again. Was it anger? Was it frustration? Or was it pain? She had no idea. She only knew her heart was heavy and she felt burdened!

“What do you want me to expect after I learnt you lie to me!”

“What lie are you talking about now?!” It was clear that tension was bringing up a change in their voice. They were both hurt. They were both afraid. But they didn’t know how to react with all these burdens on their chest.
