Maddox POV

Time seemed to be running out for me especially, after hearing how Kian dealt with the rogues sent by myself to their Pack-house, after he bravely came up to my den to challenge me.

I hated him so much. I hated him for the very same reason he was liked, admired, and feared by people. His defiance towards enemies.

People call me mad but would never attempt going to an enemy's den without a body guard or two. Those are things only a mad person could afford to do.

Everything appeared to be happening too quickly. I needed Lessia here badly. I feared that sooner or later, Kian would trace the rogues who attacked his pack back to me, and with that, would come an all out war. I was not prepared for that.

I stared outside my window to glance at the setting sun. Once it had gone down, the next time it would be up, would be tomorrow. I was beginning to have a choking fear of what tomorrow could be and what would come with it. Steadily, I developed a phobia for the next minutes.
