Chapter twelve
I went straight to the bathroom and bathed like I have never bathed before.
I'm not sure if everything that happened to me today really happened or not but I'm glad my husband found me on time.
I never knew I was standing in the middle of the road like that.
And all this while I thought I was being chased by a beast.
But still it felt so real. If it wasn't real then how come I'm so dirty?
Or did I walk through dirty mud paths to get to the road?
My husband too was behaving strangely when I asked how he found me.
What am I saying? He is my husband. He would never lie to me or even think of hiding anything from me.
I wonder when this imagination of mine started.
It couldn't have been when I had gone to Old Magritte's house. But it's possible I started seeing things right from the moment I must have thought I had seen an old man.
