Lestat left Jessica outside his house and drove off.

“Call mother,” Lestat said. Lestat got a dead tone.

‘Where are you, mother,’ he wondered since he has not heard from his mother for a few weeks. The last time he heard of her was when he visited her after she insisted, he comes around on a Sunday evening for dinner. She made him so drunk that he had to sleep over, using the excuse of missing her only child, and ever since he started to date Jessica who he never stopped talking about, he was neglecting her.
