“Put me down!” I yelled when we arrived back at our castle. “I’m in control now.”

Lance set me on my feet as he looked into my eyes, ripping out my heart. “Leila, I promise you, we’ll get the children back.”

I nodded. “I know. Lance, I’m so sorry I called you a liar. I was just—”

“I know.” He pulled me to his chest as I held him, gripping his shirt.
