Jase returned to the table smiling, so Lance’s talk with him couldn’t have been all that bad. He sat beside Addie and smiled at her.

“So, I was thinking of ordering The Chef’s Tasting, but I wasn’t sure if the children would like it.” I continued looking at the menu, thinking. While the children were still young, it would be good to take them to a pizza or hamburger place every now and then. But this was the first time we had all gone out to eat together in a long while.
