“Did you plan it ahead of time, Dad?” Jase asked, more intrigued than I thought he would be.

He shrugged. “I made a few phone calls, and it didn’t take long to set everything up.”

“Your father really knows how to treat a lady.”

Lance smiled, arching an eyebrow. “Only you.”

“Yuck!” Sirena made a face. “Love is yucky!”

Everyone laughed.

“You won’t think so when you’re older,” I said, smiling. “Someday, you’ll meet someone and get married, too.”

“Nope!” She shook her head adamantly, her dark-brown hair flipping over her shoulders. It was a bit longer now than I used to keep it, but I liked it longer on her. “I’m going to stay with you and Daddy forever.”

“I hope so, love.” Lance picked her up, set her on his lap, and nuzzled her neck. “You can stay with Mommy and Daddy for as long as you like.”
