Chapter 83
I carefully wiped off my stomach with the tissues that Dr. Ryan had provided for me and dressed quickly, excited to begin our new life together, when I suddenly thought of Raven and the sunlight serum. How was I going to develop the serum before the baby was born? But I had no choice. Lance needed to be unlinked to Raven as quickly as possible. If she died while they were linked, then he would die, too, and vice versa. They couldn’t stay linked indefinitely.
I opened the door, and Lance and Dr. Ryan were waiting for me in her office. Lance wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me in for a hug and then bent down and kissed me on the lips.
“Well, I’ll give you two some privacy,” Dr. Ryan said, headed toward the door when I stopped her.
“Amy, will you wait a moment, please?” I asked and she turned around expectantly. I looked up at Lance and whispered, “The sunlight serum.”
