Misha

A familiarly strange voice called out to me and caught my attention. I was afraid of coming out. I was safe in here, hiding inside Mia. I wanted to go out and play. The grass, the air, the flowers, and the trees intrigued me. I loved it when I felt their touch on me when no one was around but the fear of seeing blood, and bodies, and attacks, and scary wolves who were the size of a monster made me shiver. I had seen them before. Stared into their eyes and felt their breath on my skin like fire on lava. The big, scary forms towering over me, surrounding me, and their claws in the air, ready to strike down on me.

I did not remember much about that day, but I remembered the terror, and it shook me to my core. The moment I had taken my form, when Mia shifted for the first time and gave me control, I had seen all those things. I was not sure what more terrifying things this world out there was hiding. I did not want to see them again.

‘Misha?’ I heard the voice again, ‘I will keep yo
