Even after we reached Marshall’s place, Violette never opened her eyes. I had wanted to return on the morning, but upon seeing her face turned even pale, I decided to leave Bloodvenom Pack and told Kasha to tell Killian about my sudden leave.

The door to Marshall’s house opened just before I knocked on it. He must be able to tell I was coming from the sound of the galloping horse.

“You come again.” He stared at Violette in my arms after greeting me.

“I need you to check her again.”

With an arched brow, Marshall nodded and opened the door wide as he backed away to give me the space. Immediately, I went to the long couch, dragged a soft pillow, and carefully placed Violette’s body.

“She has been unconscious after the slave hunt. I thought she was just tired, but she didn’t show a sign of waking up.”

“That shouldn’t be happening, though. Did something else happen?” Marshall probed further as he checked on Violette’s pulse. His face contorted in worry, then he touched Violette’s
