Chapter 34

Bryan was still staring into the room where his wife was still unconscious. The surgery went well, the doctor said. And he only had to wait until Shienna was more stable to see her.

Bryan, however, was impatient. He wanted to see Shienna now and he said that he loved her so much. He couldn't bear to see Shienna unconscious with several pieces of equipment still attached to her body. And later, when Shienna woke up, would she ask about the baby? What would Bryan say to her if that happened?

"Bryan, is she okay?" asked Jennifer, who came stumbling in after hearing the news from Edward. She clamped her mouth shut at the sight of her best friend's condition. "Oh, Shie... what happened to you?"

Bryan gave no response to Jennifer's question, and Jennifer realized the man next to him was now looking at his wife with a hurt look.
