I looked at Miranda and then at Connor. I could only imagine how unpleasant my facial expression must be. Connor, on the other hand, had no clue.
"Thank you, Miranda. I'll be ready tomorrow," he said.
"Anything else I can do for you?" Miranda was all smiles. My insides burned.
"That'll be all," Connor dismissed her. He turned to me after she left. He finally noticed the bitter look on my face and furrowed his eyebrows. "What's wrong?" he asked.
