31: The phone call

“I have found my second chance mate,” I said smoothly as quickly as possible.

My parent gasped and their eyes popped out of their eye sockets.

Silence followed and my heart pounded against my ribcage. Thinking the news had scared my parent into muteness.

They were both stunned to the point that they didn't move a muscle.

“Mom, Dad are you still breathing or do I need to call the doctor?” I asked, agitated.

“Claire, tell us, who is he?” my mom queried, after taking in a long airy breath.

I swallowed. I did not want them to die of heart attack when they found out I was mated to the Alpha prince so I stuck to his name and his Alpha title.

“Alpha Clayton,” I mumbled as low as I could muster.
