Chapter 13 - Severn

It’s a 20-hour ride from where our pack is outside of Split Lake, Manitoba, Canada to Damien’s uncle’s cabin in Seely Lake, Montana. We make a few stops for food and pee breaks, but the majority of the time is spent on the road.

We are tense the entire trip. I mean, who wouldn’t be? But the further we get from the pack, the better we feel. We threw our phones out of the car on the road outside of the school. Since then, we’ve had nothing but time. Time to get to know my mates.

Each person that drove got to pick the music. The SUV they got us is fully tricked out. Heated seats and steering wheel, sunroof, Bose speakers, leather seats, tinted windows and internet. The note that had the address on it said that they would most likely be looking for a used car or something that we stole off the street. They were less likely to be looking for a brand new car. So, with the internet, we got Spotify. Each of us got our playlists.
