THE WOLF AND THE PRINCESS

I reached the gate and tried to get it open but it wouldn’t budge. A blue beam of light emerged from it, scanning me from head to toe. A few seconds later, it automatically unlocked. That wasn’t there this morning.

Gosh, Carissa was always making unnecessary upgrades. I walked down the small interlocked path and looked at the lawn on my right and left. She had a lot of free time today since the lawn was mowed too. I stepped into the parking spot of the cars which had a black Camry at the left and a white Toyota at the right.

I didn’t take cars to work because it was bad for business. They didn’t know where I lived and that was why I only limited our friendship to the store.

The duplex was cream, her favorite color, and the balcony rested against the wall, demarcating the first floor and ground floor, being overshadowed by the pillars that held a miniature roof, specifically designed to prevent sun rays from reaching the balcony.
