I tried to minimize my presence and quietly leave the office without alerting the adulterous pair, but blame it on my bad luck I accidentally kicked the chair in front of me, which fell with a thud.
The noise startled the two, and the PE teacher yelled in panic. “Who is it?”
I wished so badly I could slap myself in the face right now, wondering why the heck I couldn’t avoid getting into trouble.
“I think someone is in the office. But who could it be? All the staff members are in the assembly hall.” Ms. Marie asked, confused.
“What if it’s a student?” the PE teacher guessed.
Ms. Marie’s expression changed immediately, and she shouted. “Crap! What are you waiting for? Don’t let them get away or we’ll be in big trouble.”
I somehow scrambled out of the office and ran across the hallways.
I assumed they wouldn’t go all out, but boy, I was wrong.
The PE teacher chased
That day during the PE break, Nora had seen Liam entering the science laboratory. She was surprised to find him in the lab when everyone else was on the ground. Her eyes lit up at once when she thought how she would stumble upon his secret inside and hence followed him sneakily. When she entered the lab, however, reality proved to be different. What she saw differed totally from what she had imagined. The so-called secret did not exist. Instead, she noticed Liam behaved abnormally and seemed to have difficulty in breathing. “Are you okay, Liam?” She walked towards him, and before her hands could touch him, Liam flung her away mercilessly. “Get Lost.” Shocked by his sudden outburst, Nora was confused. The boy in front of her began clutching his hair as he groaned in pain. She wanted to go over and help him but didn’t know-how. Just as she was contemplating, he paused
These students were truly vicious. They did not care if their actions would severely injure her. All they had in their mind was to enjoy her miserable state. The scalding hot soup ran down her head, burning her scalp. Any normal person would have fainted from the intense pain. To make things more exciting, the students picked up tomatoes and water balloons, assaulting her. Throughout, Nora did not even let out a whimper. On the exterior, she had put up a strong front, but internally she was at her breaking point. She wanted someone to come to her rescue, but it was a pity that the person who had promised to protect her till the end was the same who had caused her to be in this state. At that moment she did not know what hurt more, her body or her heart. Finally, she broke down her limits and as her scalp began tingling in pain, hot tears st
Nora returned to her condo and rushed straight inside the bathroom. She removed her clothes hastily and climbed inside the bathtub that was already filled with cold water. She rubbed her skin with the bath scrub till her skin turned red. It was as if in this way it would wash off all her pain and endless humiliation she had suffered today. At last, she was tired of all the scrubbing and buried her face in her knees. Her shoulders trembled as she cried miserably. A melodious ringtone resounded in the bathroom. Her cell phone buzzed inside the pocket of her jacket. The voice of the cell phone seemed to have not drifted past Nora’s ears. The phone continued ringing, and it was only after she found the noise to be too irksome did she reach out for it. Glancing at the bright screen, she saw it was her brother calling. Nora hurriedly answered the call. “Hello.” A magnetic
Heavenly Pavillion The villas in Primrose street were divided into specific classes. The best undoubtedly belonged to the owner of Heavenly Pavillion and the organizer of this year’s charity ball. The security here was extremely tight. At the entrance, there were escorts, welcoming the guests. Although it wasn’t her first time attending such a lavish event, Nora was still in awe looking at the arrangements. After looking around, Nora could identify most of the people. They were people from the upper class. Seeing that there were only a few people from their school, Nora relaxed. It was early fall, yet her palms were sweaty. She was exceedingly nervous. Her heart was pounding until she could hear it, and a bad feeling crept into her mind. She turned towards Jessica nervously and suggested. “Maybe I should go back. I do
“Will you stop drinking?” Sean asked helplessly, watching his best friend pour another glass of wine. Liam acted like he didn’t hear him and downed the glass in a go. Ever since the event started, Liam had been drinking nonstop and Sean did not know how to make him stop. Sean could only watch helplessly as he drowned himself in his sorrow. “You think drinking yourself to death will wash your sins?” An angry voice from behind them and Jackson strode over them. Since the last day of school, he had lost hold of Liam. He wouldn’t pick up his calls or read his messages. He even went to his house hoping to meet him there, but the house was empty except for the maids and guards. It was as though he had disappeared from the world. Before Jackson could reach Liam, Sean stood between Jackson and Liam. “Stay out of it,” he ordered calmly. “Stop
The party was coming to a close as the evening approached its climax. Several couples walked to the center of the hall, swaying on the dance floor. All the girls present, whether they were rich heiresses or socialites, all had their expectant gaze towards Liam, awaiting who he would choose as his dance partner. Except for one. Nora hadn’t left the event yet. Because she arrived with Jessica, she couldn’t leave by herself. Besides, Jessica had sneaked somewhere with Jackson, leaving Nora to fend for herself. As more and more people crowded on the dance floor, Nora stepped aside in a corner, trying to make her presence invisible. Suddenly, a figure walked towards her, step by step. Nora felt a sinking feeling invade her limbs as she tried to back away, however, the person didn’t give her any room to move. Clad in an all-black suit and turtleneck, Liam stood in front of her, just two
The morning light traveled through the curtains directly on her face, waking her up. Nora furrowed her brows and pulled the quilt over her head. Within a few seconds, she threw the blanket off. The heat made her suffocate. She rubbed her eyes groggily and let out a yawn. As soon as the unfamiliar surrounding came in her sight, she sat up with a start. She recalled the events from last night and breathed a sigh of relief. Her eyes roamed across the empty bedroom, searching for Liam. He had promised to send her home in the morning. Just then, the door to the room opened, and a tall man entered the room. To her surprise, it wasn’t Liam. He was about 182 centimeters tall, had dark black hair, and a bulky built. There were many small tattoos on his neck, and his nose and ears were pierced. He looked somewhat familia
The night breeze was chilly, and it was pitch dark outside. In the silent night, only the sound of night chippers could be heard. Nora tossed and turned around in her sleep, feeling uncomfortable. Apparently, she hadn’t taken a bath for two days. Somehow, the bathroom had a leakage and couldn’t be used for some time. Because of this, Nora couldn’t take a bath and it was too risky for her to bathe in the guest washrooms, too. Although Liam suggested he would take care of it, Nora declined. She thought she can bear with it and didn’t want to risk anything least Liam put the blame on her. However, now, it was really becoming unbearable for her. She was itching all over her body and her skin turned rash. She sat up and looked at the man sleeping on the enormous bed. Watching him sleep peacefully, she didn’t have the heart to wake him up. These past few days
