Dasha's POV

I stomped my foot hard on the floor. I was angry that Geralda had ruined all my plans and wishful thinking, as if she was playing games with me and Nicholas' efforts that had gone so smoothly at first.

"Really?" My tone must have fallen on deaf ears. "I've come this far, but why would you say something so desperate?"

Geralda just shrugged. I could see that there was no guilt after I had disappointed and angered her. Over time, her casual attitude began to annoy me.

"Don't do as you please. You don't know what I went through to get here," I said pleadingly.

"I even ignored the punishment I was supposed to carry out. But I ignored it all to get more information about my real mother and father."
