Dasha's POV

I had asked for a normal burial for Nicho, but Beta Gerald asked for his son's body to be cremated instead, he wanted to keep Nicholas' ashes in his room.

"I'm sorry, Dasha. I hurt you once and it made Nicholas feel hurt too." Beta Gerald said to me after the ashes were scattered.

I rubbed Beta Gerald's shoulder and smiled, "He was a very devoted and loving son to his parents. There's nothing wrong with wanting to do your best. Thanks to your upbringing, Nicholas has become like a brother and best friend to me."

"Nicholas was never wrong to choose you, I should have realized that earlier and made his life happy. I didn't expect his life to be so short," Beta Gerald said, crying again. I tried to calm him down.

I remembered the beautiful childhood with Nicholas, the adolescence and adulthood that became more memorable. His silly behavior and laughter will always remain in my mind. This time, I couldn't lean on his shoulder to relieve my tiredness and sadness.
