57: Annie's POV
The enemy is all around us, Micheal, Paula, and myself are good fighters, we have been trained our whole lives to fight as a one man army. The warriors in my pack know that help may never come, we need to be able to fight in any conditions, and against any odds.
Ansel's pack is not weak, but only the warriors are trained to fight, none of the mothers know how to protect their children. Me, Micheal, and Paula can each hold our own, but our focus at the moment is not our own lives. We must protect the pack, as their queen they refuse to leave me to fight alone, these warriors are loyal to me already, but since they do not know how to fight as well as we do, I feel the need to protect them, just as they feel the need to defend me.
Every time I am fighting more than one rogue at a time I end up surrounded by at least three of my own warriors, I know they only want to help me, but it is rather frustrating. Finally I scream out through the mind link, in doing so

I drop down from the tree's to rejoin my men on the ground, "Don't trust your eyes." I order, adding "The fog is too thick, focus on your other sense's" I can hear them moving better than I can smell them, I close my eyes and focus on my hearing. Hearing Annie talking like we will all be dead by morning is breaking my heart. Luckly most the men did not hear her ordering Micheal to leave the battle field. "Men, today we are to be tested, I know I have been gone a long time, and I don't know any of you nearly as well as I should. But I am here because I love my pack. When I got word tha you were in trouble I came, it took me longer than I would have liked, but I came, because it is my duty to protect you. But today is different, today we fight as equal's. Today there is a threat not only to our queen, but to our very way of life. If we fall, other packs will follow. If we let them leave here with a victory, they will never stop. Today we stand as one, today we fight not only for ourselves but for all werewolves, today your King and Queen lead the charge to victory." I shout to the crowd. We leave the mothers to finish dividing the weapons amongst themselves. When we reach the square I find Annie and Ri'elle opening box after box of vials. "What are these?" I ask. "Oh, hey, good you're back. These blue ones are healing potion for poison, the green ones heal any wounds short of losing a limb, and the red ones are weapons. The only issue with the weapons is that Ri'elle and the witches color coded by help vs hurt... we won't know what the weapon does until we use it. Some cause poison like the one used on me, others cause welts to grow all over the body, or they cause any number of other ailments. All we will know going in is that they will cause harm." Annie tells me. "That make's sense, you guys knew we were short on time, the color code was a great idea. Less likely for one of to be accidentaly poisoned by someone trying to help." I respond. Dawn can't be more than an hour away, but it seems that the vampire's either don't care, or they want to wait until the last second.More and more of my warriors are falling to injuries, we have only a few dead, but more than half are injured to the point they can no longer fight. Ansel called in the mothers as back up, and that helped, but I fear it was too little and too late. In this moment I wish more than anything that I knew how to trigger the powers I seem to have, but I have not had the time to figure out how they work yet.The fog is thinning now, I can see through it to the ither side, and what I see there does not help my moral. I walk ove to Annie, she is talking to her Alpha, and I want to see what the plan is for the day. "Hello Alpha Maxwell, it's good to see you again, thank you for coming to help us. I know our packs have never been allies, so i appreciate that you came." I know that he came to help Annie, not me, but it would be bad form to not thank an Alpha in this situation. I wake up to Ansel gently shaking me awake. I smile up at him and say "Good morning Handsome, what time is it?" "Hey there sleepy girl." He says with a smile. "It is almost 6 o'clock, I already spoke to alpha Maxwell, he is setting up dinner for us now, why don't you get changed and we can meet up with everyone." "Yeah, okay. I just need to go to the bathroom first." I stand up and Ansel hands me a pile of clothes to take with me. I walk into the bathroom, I really need to pee, it has been nearly 24 hours since I used the bathroom, or eat... I flush the toilet and wash my hands, the coolness of the water is refreshing. "Wait, before we vote does anyone have any questions? Or anything that they would like to add to the conversation before we vote..?" Ansel says quickly. "Good point" I concede to him with a nod of my head, then I turn back to the table and add "does anyone have anything to add?" "Well, actually... if we combine packs, what does that mean for the ranks? With the exception of Alpha each pack has someone for each rank, and for that matter for each job. I mean, I know my wheelhouse is not very big, but I am in charge of all the cooking and cleaning staff, will have to fight to keep my job?" Miss. Frankie asks. True love's first kill 65: Annie's POV
Now that we are all agreed on having the two packs merge we start in on the topic of moving to the Queen's Keep. I have only ever seen the place once, as a pup my pack took us on a field trip to see the keep. No one live's there, but the council sends people to check up on the place a couple times a year. And other packs also send children there on field trips. The castle itself is huge, it could house both our packs 5 times over. That is not even taking into account the surrounding houses and other buildings. It is similar to the set up of the town square here, houses and apartment buildings for the pack members and families that do not want to live in the pack house. Then there are stores, grocery stores, bakery's, butchers, toy stores, all those things a normal town has, werewolves usually like to keep to themselves for the most part, so we usually have what we need in the pack town.
