43. THE THINGS YOU DO TO ME

"Emery," he whispered.

She silenced him, placing two fingers on his lips.

She wasn't ready to listen to his rants, she didn't want to know why she couldn't love him. Her mind was already made up about him. She was ready to love him. He'd been everything good to her, how could she not make his life worth living?

"Don't push me away, Benhail." She begged him.

He stood up from the bed and walked over to the window side to have a glimpse of nature. Admiring the view of the tall buildings from his room, the beautiful green color of some tall green plants. They were as beautiful as Emery. He shut his eyes and heaved a sigh.

"You can't love me," he felt her presence around him.

"Why can't I love you? The contract we signed?" She went over to the closet and brought out her copy of the signed document. She lifted the paper to his face and ripped it to shreds.

Benhail's eyes widened, "did you just rip that?"

"Yes," Emery took a bold step. "If that's the reason you are holding back, I just tore
