She was paler than usual. No, scratch that, she looked like death. Her breathing was laboured and her injury wouldn't stop bleeding. We hadn't bonded as mates, but I could feel her pain. She was dying, I could feel it. For the past one hour, she had been silent. I pressed my shirt to her wound, clenching my jaw when she let out a small whimper. At this point, she looked small... broken. I had never seen her in such a state. Maybe that's why it hit me hard.

"Rhea did this to you, didn't she?" I said and she exhaled shakily.

"I let her catch me off guard" she croaked, opening her eyes.

"Why would you do that? You know she's dangerous" I said and Thalia rolled her eyes, even in such a pitiful state.

"It's a mistake I regret. I can't wait to get my claws on her" she wheezed.

"You're not healing, Thalia" I pointed out and she scowled at me.

"Don't you think I know that?" She said.

"You don't look so good" I told her and she chuckled painfully.
