Chapter Forty-three

"Where are you going? You just got back," her grandma asked, concerned. she'd just managed to lift her head from the boxes to notice her grand daughter was getting ready to leave the house.

"I need to go to work," she responded. "And the kids need to go to school."

"What? Today?" her grandma asked, as if she'd just been told she was going to sell the house.

"You never give yourself a rest and that's not fair. You don't even want to spend time with your nana. And you're also pushing the boys away from me as well.*

"I'm sorry, but they've missed enough days at school and I've equally missed enough days at the bakery. Besides, I've been resting for days. It's time to actually put myself to good use. Boys, get ready.

The old woman sighed and shook her head.

"It's no winning with you. You just got back today and instead of giving yourself the day of and giving me all the details you know I so desperately crave, you decide to go to a work that doesn't even need you. Is that fair?"
