Chapter 35

2 days later :

I was just getting settled in Dad's place, even though it didn't feel like my home. I tried not to think about Geoff, but it was impossible. I wonder if he's thinking about me. My lips curled when I thought about him with another woman. 

Sandra and Dad were very excited to see me despite my sour mood. They didn't have many visitors in the two days I was here, so when I heard the door bell ring, I was sceptical, but I opened the door anyway. 

I stumbled back a step when I saw Geoff in front of me. Not just normal Geoff. Haggard, disheveled Geoff. His hair was mussed up, his clothes were rumpled, his eyes were red and he even wore mismatched shoes. His normal five o'clock shadow was thicker than normal. 

I mean, I didn't look any better, but... 

"You look horrible." I was the first to speak. I was anxious, happy, angry and frustrated all at once.
