Chapter Eighty Five

“Wake up, Lena." I heard Konstantin’s voice call out.

“Wake up, Lena!” This time, it was my mother’s voice.

I woke up with a start. I noticed it was Damien calling my name; he was no longer on the bed, but he was fully dressed—not with his regular work clothes, but something entirely different, he had just a black pants and a jacket—at the sides of his pant was a holster, where he stocked one gun at each side of his waist. I had this feeling that he had more weapons hidden somewhere.

“Where are you going to?’I asked, dizzily standing from the bed to go after him.

“I would take you somewhere safe.”

“I don’t want to be somewhere safe; I want to be with you, Damien.”

“I do not have time to argue about this now, Lena. The vampires are here and waiting.”

“You said they would be here in two days; it had only been hours.”
