Chapter Nineteen

(Lena's POV)

I cradled Kaden in my hands.

Just as Damien had said, the omegas showed up the next day with clothes—all Kaden's sizes—more than he would ever need.

Kaden was happy; I could feel it, and I felt like I had deprived him of all this for far too long. I had waited patiently for him to go back to sleep before slipping away to Damien's office.

There were two people present in Damien's office, a man and a woman; they seemed to be members of the pack, but I was sure I had never seen them before—maybe new members then.

The moment I walked in, Damien's eyes snapped to mine.

"Leave us," he said, and they were both dismissed.

"I could have waited, you know?"

"You don't really think I would ever make you wait, did you?"

I smiled, and my cheeks reddened at that.

"So who do I have to meet?"

"Your mother"

The smile was off my face that instant, and I rose to my feet.

"I do not want to see her." I said.
