We immediately went to the place where Lander told us. The elite team searched around the area while I waited outside the car.

I couldn't help but feel anxious, terribly worried about Lily. Every second felt like an eternity as my mind raced with thoughts of what might be happening to her.

"Sir, the area's clear," Carlo reported. The words hit me like a sledgehammer. In a fit of rage and frustration, I punched the car window, shattering it. I felt the sharp pain in my fist but barely registered it amidst the adrenaline.

"Call Lander," I ordered, my voice laced with anger and desperation.

"Argh!" I punched the metal of the car door repeatedly, the frustration and rage boiling over. The metal dented under the force of my blows, but it did little to ease the turmoil inside me.
