FIFTY-ONE

Clarissa’s fingers grazed the rare diamond necklace that sparkled like the sun as she used the other hand to stir the lasagna and broccoli concoction she wanted to eat for dinner.

“I really can’t believe that he gave me all these?” She said more to herself than anyone else.

A smile lingered on her lips as she remembered how Archer had given her the necklace a day before.

“Close your eyes,” he had said softly.

She had pouted sweetly, not wishing to be so obedient all of a sudden. She had to stress him slightly for leaving without informing her, and there was no other mischievous way that she could think to do it.

“Come on, Clarissa,” he said softly.

“I don’t want to. It’s so dark out. What if you…”

His fingers clasped on her eyes, and she shut them on impulse, her smile going bigger. He just knew how to get what he wanted no matter how much she whined.

“That’s cheating,” she whined.

“Ah, that’s all fair then,” he teased.
