When I dream, I can feel the moment...when I dream, I'm already there.

And a long arm folds around me, encasing me in his warm embrace.

“Come on, Mikaelson, we have a summer to get to.” He exhales, pushing the cigarette to the corner of his mouth as we make our way to the side of my house to fetch our bikes.

I remember when the wind zoomed past me, a very subtle chill blowing around us as we rode to the beach. The bike groaned against the pavement as we made our trek.

My knuckles tighten against the handlebars the closer I get to the beach. The only light that guided us was street lamps and the reflector taupe on Elijah's back wheel.

I remove my hand and spread my arms open, feeling the wind blow through my open fingers, this is what freedom must feel like.
