Nate's POV:
"I'll get the door. You sit down, babe." I got up from the couch when we both heard the door bell. We were about to have dinner with Rebecca and her family. I was super nervous even though Sam said she was okay with Rebecca now.
"Hi!" I heard Becca squeal in excitement as soon as I opened the door and saw her standing with Hannah while Xavier was standing next to her, holding the baby in his arms. He gave me a warm smile which I returned and opened the door wider for them to enter.
"Wow, your house is really beautiful." Rebecca started to roam her eyes all over our apartment as soon as she entered and we all walked towards the living room.
"Oh my god! Thank you so much for coming and bringing the kids along with you." I heard my girlfriend's voice. She stood up from the couch, holding her stomach and walked towards us.
"The pleasure is
Fiveyears later,Samantha's POV:"Lucy!" I groaned in frustration as my daughter kept running around the house, refusing to eat. She was just like her dad, stubborn and naughty and yes, he was right about the gender and I didn't hear the end of it when she was born."I'm not hungry, mommy." She replied with her puppy dog eyes. Not gonna fall for that, young lady."Come back here. Now." I placed my hands on my hip, giving her a stern look."You are so rude." She pouted and walked towards me grumpily while I had my jaw hanging to the floor."Daddy never forces me to eat peas. I hate peas." She whined as I scooped her in my arms and placed her on the chair in front of the dinning table."Well, it's good for your health. Your dad spoils you too much." I explained, placing the napkin on her lap and started feeding h
Sequel to 'Amidst Chaos' but can be read as a stand-alone also.Happy Reading!I watched the people around me having a good time as I kept chugging on drink after drink to drown my sorrows and pain. It was a little early to be drinking at a bar but I didn't give a shit. I could see people giving me weird stares at my attire. I mean, of course, it wasn't normal to see a guy dressed in a tux at a bar, drinking like a maniac, at this time of the day.Well, fuck off, people! I had my own reasons."Keep 'em coming," I yelled to the bartender and kept tapping my feet to the music that was faintly ringing in my ears.
"Yo, let's go get some coffee." Ryan, my best friend nudged me as I kept working on my laptop."I have work, dude. I need to get the sample designs for our new project done, like now." I replied not taking my eyes off the screen."Oh right, the new project. I heard that our new project manager is a woman. Can you believe it?" he whispered so that no one could hear us and climbed on my desk."Really?" I asked in shock because we were working in a gaming company and I was a game designer while Ryan was working in the back end. Women were rarely interested in gaming and stuff so I was genuinely surprised to know that a woman was going to be our new project manager."Yeah, I hope she i
Samantha's POV :"I'm so excited to work with this team. They look promising, Mr. Smith." I smiled at David, the team lead, and sat down in my seat instantly falling in love with my new corner office. It was located on the 20th floor and had an amazing view of the Seattle skyline."It is our pleasure to have you work for us, Ms.Perez." he smiled politely."Although, I must warn you. I can be very brutal when it comes to working and they might be days when you have to work overtime. Are you guys up for it?" I asked, crossing my legs."Sure, Ms. Perez. I know you expect nothing but perfection and my team is the best in the company. I can assure you that," he stated confidently and I nodded wit
Nate's POV :"What the hell? Why do you look like you have seen a ghost?" Ryan asked as I reached my cubicle, trying to catch my breath."I fucked up big time, man," I whispered in panic as the blood drained from my face."What happened? Didn't she like the designs again?" he asked, adorning a confused look on his face."No, but she is definitely going to hate it after what just happened. Fuck, I don't want to lose my job." I sighed and sat down on my seat holding my head between my hands."Calm the fuck down and tell me what happened," he rolled his eyes and I told him everything.
Nate's POV :"No, I didn't." I tried to deny it but my stupid face gave off and he jumped from his seat."Holy fucking shit! Dude, you banged her. I fucking knew it. No wonder there is an awkward tension between you both," he squealed and had a look of shock and surprise on his face."Shut your mouth. Jesus, Ryan!" I exclaimed and looked around, hoping no one heard us talking about my sex life."I can't believe you didn't tell me, man. I thought you were still hung up on Rebecca. When did this happen?" he asked me, more curious than mad and I let out a huge sigh."It was on the day of Rebecca's wedding. I was at th
Samantha's POV :The corner of his lips lifted into a smile as I kept staring at him, feeling annoyed."If you call that flirting then you have really low standards, Ms. Perez," he replied, pinching the bridge of his nose. I looked away from his face and folded my arms in front of my chest."Do not take that tone with me," I pointed my finger at him and he smiled, running his eyes all over my body, making me feel hot and flustered.I had no idea why it bothered me to see him with that girl, Amy. This was all new to me. Maybe I didn't want him to forget about me, and that night already. I kept reminding myself to be professional but I just couldn't help it.
Nate's POV :"Why are you smiling like that? You look like a fucking idiot," Ryan asked as I walked in for work the next week."Wh--? I'm not smiling," I rushed out, maintaining a straight face and removed my bag, placing it on my desk."You have been acting weird since Friday, dude. Did you have some kind of kinky sex in her office?" he whispered, making me laugh out loud.Man, I still couldn't believe that I kissed her again. I didn't know what came over me that day and to be honest, I expected her to slap the shit out of me but she kissed me back, unleashing the beast in me and now I carved more of her which was wrong on so many levels. All weekend I was anticipating seeing her
