Chapter 44

Ronan walked out of the room, his mood down because of Stacey’s words as he returned to the kitcehn.

“Continue and serve the table quickly,” he ordered before leaving.

Was he pathetic? Because he was trying to fix his mistakes by accepting her? Was he acting pathetic just because of that?

“You have to get her. She’s our mate.” His wolf said in him.

“And I’m trying. I’m trying really hard. She’s the one not opening up.” He retorted.

“Then get her to open up. You don’t expect everything to go well after treating her that way!” His wolf half yelled at him.

He closed his room door and fell to the bed, staring at the ceiling with a lot of thoughts going on in his mind. Her scars. She had talked about it not being one and there was a lot. The elders couldn’t have done that in a span of an hour or two.

Were those the scars that she talked about? The same scars that won’t let her trust anyone or anything?

The door opened without the person knocking, causing Ronan to look up only
