Stacey was on her own the next day. She didn’t go to the dining table for breakfast or greet anyone. The moment she woke up, she made her way directly to the priestess house even before the old woman was ready.

“Did the alpha chase you out of his house? Or you’re taking your trainings serious from now on?”

“The latter.” She replied with a bored expression.

The priestess watched her for a while, noticing something was wrong before stopping what she was doing.

“Tell me, what’s wrong? Did Ronan say something? Or is it Lena?”

“So he’s a jerk and no one decided to warn me about it.” Stacey muttered loud enough for the priestess to hear.

“Did he do something?” The priestess asked, her ears perked up.

Stacey opened her mouth to start but shut it back. His words of last night ringing in her head.

“You know what?” She started, looking at the priestess. “I blame the moon goddess for giving me such a bad fate. My first mate was such a jerk too and this one, the king of jerks.
