The Wedding

“Mom, what do you mean?” I asked.

“I think you were right. Why am I marrying a man who’s not even thirty yet? I’m much too old for this and having a baby!”

I felt kind of bad. Sure my mom could be selfish and oblivious and absolutely narcissistic, but she was still my mom. I wanted her to be happy.

“Does Robbie make you happy, Mom?” I asked.

“Very happy,” She admitted.

“Then screw what me or anyone else says! You love Robbie and he so clearly loves you! So marry that manchild. He’s your manchild now.”

“Really? You support me?” Mom questioned.

“I do Mom.”

“Oh that’s all I wanted to hear!”

I sighed. Of course this was a test. At least I passed it.

“Let’s get this wedding going.” I muttered.

I lined up and linked my arm wtih Jordan’s.

“You smell nice,” He whispered.

“I’m going to punch you in the face.” I said under my breath.

“Aw, you do remember what I like!”

As much as I thought this was a pretty terrible idea, I thought the wedding was quite beautiful. Both Mom and Robbie’s v
