Chapter 104: For Father's Sake

Ludovic's POV

Mother, Iris, Amber, and now, father? What the hell is happening?

Snuggled underneath the comforter in his bedroom, Klein, Iris and I waited on him, checking up on him for three consecutive days. Klein said some jargons my head was too full to contain, but some of the words I could make out seemed like he was hibernating... somehow.

At night, I excused Klein to rest. He needed to catch up on sleep himself. We may be supernaturals, but like humans, we need our beauty sleep. Iris clung unto me like a climbing plant assaulting a fence. She stayed with me, all through the nights, bringing me food from the kitchen, and warmth with her hugs. I was grateful for her presence in my life, but not the food. It tasted bland on my tongue. Two spoons and few more, and I was full.

"You should rest, My Lord." Klein patted me on the shoulder, "The pack needs their king."

"My father needs me. He needs his son." I answered, my eyes on father's chest rising and falling beneath the sheet.
