Eve’s POV:

We sit in silence and watch each other and no one is inferior. I sigh tiredly, sitting down on the bed.

"Ryan, we're behaving stupidly," I say. "Those who attacked me are most likely your enemies, and since you've come back into my life, they probably consider me part of your pack."

"Exactly," he responds. "That's why we need to stick together closely in the coming days so they won't dare to attack you again."

"That's not true," I retort angrily. "They're only doing this because of our connection."

"Oh, really?" he challenges, crossing his arms in front of his broad chest. "Then tell me why no one personally attacks me."

I fall silent, realizing that there is some logic in his argument. However, the idea of spending more time with him is not appealing to me.

"Come on, answer me if you're so sure," he insists. "I'm not even certain why they're attacking us, and yet, I'm following the situation closely. Why do you think you know more?"
