" Were you planning to take Luke and leave us behind?" I asked.
She opened her mouth surprised as my aunt rolled her eyes.
" Yeah, what were your plans? " I asked again.
I blinked back the tears and wore a blank expression as the memories of that day hit me. The day I was first left behind.
" Hey, what are you doing," my father had asked when he found me outside eating alone.
" Well, I'm doing me," I answered.
I was eating with me, spending quality time with me in a way that I had never done before.
" How was your trip?"
" Well I was worried that no one would ask, how hiking the Kilimanjaro was like." I confessed
" Well I'm all ears, you can tell me all the nitty gritty details," he winked attempting a sense of humor to lift my spirits.
