The next day I woke up feeling even more depressed. The thought of Hayden being with another woman filled me with jealousy.

"You look terrible," Grace said to me.

I glanced at her and simply nodded. Not only did I look terrible, but I also felt terrible.

"Well, go take a shower and put on some makeup. You can't go to work looking like that, you look like a ghost," she said.

If I felt better, I would have responded sarcastically, but the reality was that I didn't have the energy for anything. I didn't even want to work; I just wanted to lie in bed and berate myself for the things I had done.

"I feel so alone," I told her.

Grace rolled her eyes.

"Then go and fight for your man, because if you stay, you won't get anything," she advised.

I nodded. Now it was going to be me who fought for him. I was sure that we would soon be back together; we just needed to sort things out. I didn't like Matteo, and I'm sure that girl meant nothing to him.
