Chapter 3 Uncertainties!

After getting out of her gorgeous, yet, annoying wedding dress, she opened her laptop and said to herself, "This is my life now, it starts or ends here. Whatever happens to me from today depends on myself alone, no one else."

She started the laptop and swiftly typed on some keys after saying those words to herself.

Kelsa never walked out of her room that day.

In the evening, the maid came back with a tray of food and said to Kelsa. "Young Mistress, you've not eaten anything since you came. I prepared something light for you, please have some."

"Thank you, you are very kind. Please put it on the table, I will eat it later." Kelsa replied.

"Okay, Young Mistress." Mavis replied and walked out.

After typing for about 30 minutes, Kelsa took a bite of what was brought to her.

She sat up on the bed after eating, thinking to herself, 'That grumpy old man is so full of himself. Does he think I like him? Please, in his dreams! I'm only eighteen and all I want is to be able to finish what I'm doing and get into a big company or be hired by the government. As for love, if I didn't get it from my family, I don't think I can get it elsewhere. Marriage is a sham anyway. Who wants to be in it? It's a serious joke that is full of uncertainties!'

Early the next morning, Kelsa got into the bathroom and took a long shower.

After that she looked at her marriage certificate as if she was looking at a devastating contract.

After a long time, she placed it in the wardrobe and put on some clothes as she said to herself, 'This is a new day,' and walked into the kitchen.

As cooking was one of her hobbies to get herself distracted and numbed to pain, she started to prepare some food as she talked to herself, "I am a married woman after all. Even if it's just on paper, I still need to perform my duties."

She cooked a simple meal and set the table for breakfast.

Darryl walked out of his room, ready to go to the office. Upon coming downstairs, he was greeted by a wonderful aroma.

However, after finding out from Mavis that it was prepared by the young mistress, he decided to go to the office with an empty stomach.

He quickly walked out of the Mansion as he said to himself, 'I am not going to eat anything cooked by that piece of trash, lest, I die of food poisoning.'

He got into one of the Rolls-Royce that had been neatly packed in the garage. The driver quickly sped off to the company.

Darryl called his personal assistant and ordered him to do an investigation for him.

"Alexander, I give you five minutes to find out everything there is to know about that girl."

"Which girl, Young Master?" The assistant asked.

"Who else? That girl from yesterday."

"Young Master, are you talking about your wife?" His assistant asked cautiously.

"She is not my wife, and will never be my wife. She is just living in my house. An acquaintance maybe, but certainly not my wife. She is not worthy of that title.

The next time you call her my wife again, I'll have your head delivered to me in a box. Find out everything there is to know about her. I want the file within five minutes." Darryl roared with a dangerous expression.

Alexander Fox, his personal assistant, was not surprised at all.

It was evident enough yesterday that his boss was not happy about this marriage. It was also very glaring from the pictures that have been posted on the internet concerning his wedding.

As he was leaving his boss' office, Darryl fired another order. "And someone should bring me coffee. Now!"

Darryl shouted out his order gloomily.

To not be on his bad side, he quickly got to work and found every information there was to know about Kelsa.

He quickly went into Darryl's office and handed all the information he had gathered so far to him.

"Put it on the desk! I have more important things to do than worry about her. Bring the file concerning Johnson Group for me to review" Darryl said with a frown on his face.

Kelsa prepared a wonderful lunch in the late hours of the morning. After the food was ready, she got into the bathroom, took a cold shower and got out of the Mansion.

Her husband had gotten her a car and a driver. But do not be fooled, it's just formalities.

She entered the car. The driver asked her, "Young Mistress, where are we going to?"

"Take me to Shaw Corporations, I have to give the Young Master something." Kelsa replied.

Thirty minutes later, they arrived in front of a very huge 50 storey building. It was located in the urban area and it looked like a diamond castle.

Kelsa began feeling extremely nervous. She has been to her Father's company before, but this company was five times bigger in comparison.

Anxiety began growing in her heart like a bonfire because, she knew for sure, she will not be received well.

Meanwhile, in an office located on the 50th floor, Darryl was in his seat looking gloomily at this laptop.

His best friend, Donald Dark, was adding more insults to injury by teasing him heartily.

"WOW, where is my married man? I miss you! Oh my, see how you look in less than forty-eight hours of marriage! It has made you look like a fifty years old man.

I don't think I'm going to marry, if all married men look the way you do now. I'm sure we'll lose millions of Dollars monthly in our company if you marry for a whole year. I'd rather keep my money than waste it on a gloomy face." Donald Dark teased.

"Donald, if you want to have lunch with me and have me pay for it, then behave. Else, you are going to pay from your own pocket." Darryl said angrily.

"Well, I have to say, I think she's pretty. Yes, she is pretty and young." Said Donald.

"I think you meant to say pretty and a child. I can't be married to her for crying out loud. I'm 27 years now, how many years intervals is there between us?

This is just bullshit! I'll just wait for the old man to die and dump her somewhere, so I can finally get married to my Abigail." Darryl complained bitterly.

"Wow, so you are now pushing your father to an early grave? I guess the Shaws are not that enviable after all." Donald Dark laughed heartily.

Donald was still at it, when they heard a gentle knock on the door of the office.

Darryl shouted at the top of his lungs as he said, "I said you should hold all meetings, and I'm close for the day, I don't want to see anyone. Get lost."

"Sir, it's the Madam." Darryl's secretary said in an aggrieved tone.

Donald laughed heartily and shouted at the secretary, "What are you still doing? Let her in!"

Kelsa walked into the office with a very shy and humble face. She walked to the dinning table in the left corner of the office with the lunchbox in her hand.

She was fidgeting nervously as she had no idea she would meet two gentlemen in the office.

"I brought food to Darryl. I thought it was..., I, I mean, I'm sorry to come into your office without letting you know."

With that said, she walked out of the office without waiting for any response. She quickly ran into the elevator and headed to the parking lot.
