Chapter 138: Finding Excuse

Ruby who was sleepless that night, needs to find a way to talk to the Emperor. She needs him to draw up the decree and cancel their engagement. But each time she asked for his audience he declined. She needs to think of an excuse to enter the palace. Since her godfather is out, she cannot get in.

Ruby saw Eric walking up the path. She ran to him. "Prince Eric,”

"What's wrong?" asked Eric, with worry.

"I want to see the Empress Dowager.”

“Why?"

“I heard that the Empress Dowager is sick.”

“Yes, but that was a while ago.” said Eric. He frowns as to why she suddenly have an interest in seeing his grandmother.

“Well, take me to the palace?”

“Why?” asked Eric as he thought she may use her old trick again.

“Well...The thing is."

"What?" asked Eric with curiosity.

"She looks just like my Grandmother Willow."

"Grandmother Willow?"

"Yes. So please, take me to see her.”

“No.”

“Please, I will do whatever you want.”
