"Daph, what are you planning to do now? Did Mr. Lane say when you're going to get married?"

Yvonne clenched her jaw. "If there's no other choice, I'll expose Yvette online so that she'll die a social death."

Daphne got up and began trimming the flower arrangement beside her.

"Don't." She paused and explained. "That will affect Xav, too."

Yvonne subsided. When she was gone, Daphne snapped the scissors viciously. An entire rose fell to the floor.

Whether it was now or in the past, Xavier had never mentioned marriage. Sometimes, she had no choice but to admit that love always made itself known. Xavier did not seem to have ever had feelings for her.
