A Pain Like No Other
Eon, sitting in one of the couches in the VIP lounge on the second floor of Luna. He was keeping an eye on the patrons of the club. It's the middle of the week and the club wasn't full-packed like it usually is on the weekend. It would be easy to spot Li Na, and it's already past midnight, the time when she usually drops by, and yet, she hasn't shown her face.
He knew that he went over the line with the words that he threw at her the last time they talked. He sighed, chasing away the regrets that were gnawing in his chest.

Lina woke up screaming with a hoarse voice. It was her third time waking up and she made sure to get up from the bed this time by slapping her face. She didn’t want to fall back asleep. The man finally noticed that she wasn’t interested in her and saw another girl to his liking that he left Lina alone. “Sorry,” Eon whispered next to her ear, which sent shivers to Lina’s skin. Lina in her horror lost consciousness. That she was already screaming and asking for help even when she knew no one would help her for it was all nothing but a dream. She already knew what's going to happen even before she found herself in the now familiar swamp. She knew that the moment she fell asleep, she would find herself in her hellish nightmare all over again. The moment she succumbed to sleep, she dreamed. In her dreams, she was submerged in the cold, murky water up to her waist. She was pushing thin branches away from the gnarly trees surrounding her, away from her face as she navigated in the gloomy swamp.
