Being Watched

“Let’s go,” he offered his hand to Lina. The sky was already covered with darkness. The splashes of colors that they were admiring had finally taken over by the night. The insect, the birds, and other nocturnal species in the forest were slowly making their presence felt. It’s their time to be out in the open.

She accepted Eon’s hand and let him pull her up from the flat rock that they were sitting on. She got up and heaved a deep sigh, glancing at the now dark sky. She momentarily closed her eyes and listened to the forest breath. She always finds it amazing how the sounds that the forest produced were different during the day and night. For there are different animals that thrive in this deep forest. She was slowly getting used to the sounds that used to be scary on their first day here.
